    Default fun plays to read

Hey I'm gonna host a wine and play reading party in May and I'm looking for suggestions of possible plays to read.

Right now we've got Ric III (which I would LOVE to do), The Imp. of Being Ernest, and Equus on the list of possible plays. My friend thinks Shakespeare might be too much for such a party, because it's older, and thought something more contemporary would be better so if you guys have suggestions, please give them to me

Ubu Roi! Abel once told me that I was absurd and that I would enjoy reading that play. He was correct on at least one of those assertions.

A wine and play reading party? That's the straight up whitest thing I've ever heard.

Look for some Vonnegut plays. He wrote really goofy, short ones.
Alternatively, Kafka has a play, very short and I though it was good.
Umm... The names of these would probably help, but they do not come to me currently.
And I concur with Ldopa. This sounds very white !

It's certainly absurd, and I don't know why you're recommending it if you didn't like it.

Arcadia (goes well with Importance of Being Ernest) and/or Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (goes well with Hamlet) by Tom Stoppard.

Joe, if you ever feel like coming into Queens for a poetry group, let me know. I'm having one April 13. We also drink wine and read stuff other than poetry. Music and photos included, too. It's like show and tell and get wasted.

The Government Inspector by Gogol is fantastic; witty, fast-paced and very amusing.
