i always get intimidated when people name their oldies credentials because i don't listen to them that much. although i know most of the bands you named.

also, i like gang of four. are they considered oldies? probably not. =/

i'm pretty sure you got them all, except for the velvet underground and syd barrett (pink floyd era syd too!)

How can anyone quote The Shaggs as one of their favourite bands, they are the least tunefull group of siblings on the planet! - yet extremely amusing!

while the shaggs do have a novelty to them, i actually catch myself singing "my pal foot foot" or "who are parents" on multiple occasions. i think its awesome shit.

most of mine have been named except the animals, the association, and uh, yeah, i think people already mentioned my favorite favorites like the zombies, beatles, beach boys, kinks, syd barrett, the byrds (oh yeah, gram parsons!)

ive noticed people kindof posting favorite bands from the time period. Sun Ra doesn't fit into oldies, neither does john coltrane.

i guess if you want to post bands/people from the time period thats fine. but scott joplin? please keep it between 1908-1978
