Okay, I've always used the name The Homeville Circle, but I'm sort of afraid it might sound like a damned jam-band, so I'm going to have you guys vote on a band name for me.

Does The Homeville Circle stay or go? You decide!!!

Here's some, because I like thinking of them:

The Dead Letters
The Applebees
The People
Angel Heart Star Star Star
The Ectoplasmic Embrace

Why? I don't know.

THE HOMEVILLE PRESERVATION SOCIETY

Actually I thought about that, but stephanie thought it was lame to copy another band's album name. I'm frightened of her. Once I saw her tear a phone book in half!

Hello Sir!I don't think we really got to meet the other night at the Underground and I am very sorry. I was a bit pissed off:mad:. I did see you however. You seemed like a very nice young man. If stupid Taking On Explosives doesn't screw up again, The Homeville Circle along with 3 other local bands will be playing at the Bijou on Friday.

Not just yet.

I hope to get some 4-tracking done soon though, with the rest of the band.

I will keep everyone posted.

What do you guys sound like? The Homeville Circle (which is the best on
your list) sounds like a psychedelic alt-country quintet. Like, do you guys
listen to Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show or what?

I've never listened to Dr. Hook (though I shall Google them post-haste), but you pretty much hit the nail on the head with psychedelic alt-country, although we are only a trio right now, and I would say slightly more alt-folk than alt-country ;)

Sometimes I call it "midwestern shambling" other times "fever-folk." Imagine listening to The Anthology of American Folk Music and the Nuggets box-set in an antique store or abandoned factory.

Well, I'm actually glad to see that the Homeville Circle has won the day. Thanks to everyone for their opinions.

After your descriptions, especially with "Midwest shambling," I am very interested in hearing your band. Please post a thread of your material when you get a chance. If the vote still counts I would go with "The Torn Phonebooks." Yea.........Ok..............Well..........

Well, we played our first show last night as The Homeville Circle. It was in a really big theater venue. We were sandwiched between two very serious nu-metal bands representing Limp Bizkit ca. 1999.

First, I couldn't use my regular "green bullet" microphone because it uses the wrong kind of cord. The bass player blew a valve on the first song. I broke a string on the fourth song. My guitar rig went out inexplicably during the last song, the biggest "guitar" portion of the show. And it was flipping amazing. Honestly, aside from the technical difficulties, everything went great. The crowd really seemed to dig it (which I did not expect), and the guys from the metal bands gave us a lot of compliments afterwords and were really supportive (which I really didn't expect). I don't think the crowd was really aware that people made that kind of music, and instead of hating it like I expected, they seemed pleasently suprised.

Anyway, we got the whole shindig on video. I'm planning on creating a myspace soon, wherein we shall post some clips. Thanks for the interest.
