i've recently found some pretty cool bands that fit the e6 style precisely..but with a little better production.

http://www.myspace.com/thefictions
http://www.myspace.com/thewestminsterabbey
http://www.myspace.com/thespectacularfantastic

Hey! The High Water Marks, and Ulysses both have my space, but not Apples. The two above mentioned bands are both projects by members of The Apples in stereo.

Love,
Hilarie

Better production? Do my eyes correctly tell my brain what your fingers are trying to say? I don't know how much Elephant 6 you've heard, but if you listen to Her Wallpaper Reverie, In the Aeroplane over the Sea, Coquelicot Asleep in the Poppies, etc., you will find some amazing production that takes a bit more talent than taking a few instruments, beating lightly, and occasionally adding a pinch of reverb for texture, which is what I hear in the bands you've linked to. Sorry for the small scale attack, but you can't come on to a message board, say something else is better (whether it is or not) and not expect a little retort.

easy there... my mistake! what i meant to say was that some of the bands on there fit the e6 style (as far as who influenced them and how they project it) but are a little more hi-fi (and maybe they're just influenced by the e6 bands). i guess this doesn't go for all of the bands i linked but certainly of the fictions..on that one song..and i guess that certainly doesn't make anyone better but it's not a contest. i'm a huge fan of the crushing sound that robert got out of jeff and the gang on the aeroplane album, and the lofi goodness of cul-de-sacs, etc. so, sorry about that.

hey hillary, can we hope to get an apples myspace site in the near future? that would be very cool!

No problem! I saw you only had a couple posts and I guess I just assumed you were one of those people who just come on the forum to plug their friends' bands. My mistake!

though i don't have a band, i have a myspace page.
if you come across groups on myspace of elephant 6, apples in stereo and essex green, i made them. i am just a mere member of of montreal, dressy bessy, and beulah's myspace groups.

well, certainly without one member's knowledge, but seems official now.
