i'm pretty sure my record player is broken. the needle was stuck forward so i couldn't bring it back to play records and when i finally got it it decided to not make the clicking sound that allows it to play records. does anyone know how to fix it? :( i have a Crosley CR49 Traveler Portable Turntable
:(

oh dear mimi, i'm really sad to hear that... it's shitty when you can't find the replacement parts for analog stuff. maybe call up a local record store or hi fi shop, that could help... look for specialist shops on the internet in your area or something, they might know a little about it.

How is that player? i was thinking of buying the same thing, but the reviews on amazon were sketchy.

i don't even know what needs to be replaced or anything. i'll check it out tomorrow because i don't have to leave for class until like 4:00.
i know i can order replacement needles online but i'm not 100% that is the problem. i should probably get a screwdriver...
except there aren't any screws in the area i need to get off. there are some at the very edge of the player, so i guess i have to take that off? ughjjhjh
i can kind of see under it but i can't like work on it or anything. maybe i can find someone here who knows about this kind of thing.

it was really great until i broke it. it's the only one i've ever knows though so i don't have anything to compare it to.

I bought a Crosley for an old roommate and it seemed pretty good for the price, not to mention the fact that they look great.

I've had quite a few record players in the past and never really had any problems with any of them. Go for it, Crazy Gnome!
