Is something I hardly feel, ever, ever, ever .. .... .. .
But I just really do right now. I don't really have that urge to get as far away from our country as possible.

Head on over here and look at the amazing pictures. Some of the best of the whole presidential thing (inauguration, first days in office) - great photography, really inspiring

I feel the need to really do something important and memorable with my life. I mean this is my life. I am living it. I need to stop being a monkey. I need to create something more incredible and helpful than I could ever imagine,

It is totally an alien feeling to me. I started feeling patriotic on inauguration day. The fact that real leadership is happening, intelligent decisions are being made, and there is an inspiring leader in charge causes me to think maybe things will be better.

when i was downtown at the inauguration, it was the first time i have felt patriotic. there was just a special feeling in the air; over a million people gathering from all over the country to witness history. it was an honor to be there. i've always been kind of unsure what nationality i should label myself, in the first place. both my parents were born in Canada but i was born in USA, and i hold citizenship to both Canada and USA. therefore, i've never been able to tell if i am Canadian or American. so i have been pretty indifferent towards patriotism.

I don't you should feel particularly proud of your country if it's lax enough to allow the bush administration to run it for 8 years. "change" shouldn't be necessary. I like Obama and all, but he's just a politician. he's not some hero, yet.

I try to avoid UPI and the Washington "Times" at all costs, they are right-wing propaganda distributors, owned and run by cult leader Rev. Sun Myung Moon. The Boston Globe's site consistently has the best selections of images from major events, I don't know how they always get such high quality, often stunning images:

honestly obama is inspiring a lot of people in ways i could never imagine....i follow the inauguration tumblr and people from all over the world contribute and so many of them have a renewed sense of hope and desire to get out into their communities and volunteer. i think the real radical change is going to come straight from the american people themselves.

I'm curious what part of the last eight years Aqualad is proud of in any way. I can't think of one thing.

totally agree, but i'll check out their pictures without feeling guilty of much. The ones you posted are much more phenomenal though.
