pfff, man big deal

people probably think you're lame if you don't just list indie bands

not to offend anyone

Oasis is the band (together with r.e.m) i've listen to before i 'got in to' music, so they play a big part.

but there is more britpop i can enjoy. blur, gene and super furry animals (if i may call sfa 'britpop'....)

britpop's ok. not amazing, but ok.

Oasis is the band that got me into music.
I never got why they were and are always compared to the Beatles.

If they sound like anyone, they sound like the Who, but certainly NOT the beatles.

In any case:
The Breeders
Ted Leo
Against Me!
The Roots
Bella Fleck
Pearl Jam
The Shins
Jonathan Richman
Ben Kweller
Andrew W.K.
Blur (I know that's sacrelige to have them both on the same list. So sue me.)
Beta Band
The Violent Femmes

...Also of note is that I highly dislike Bright Eyes, and i just plain don't get why everyone thinks Radiohead is so great.

haha! I can't believe you thought I made up the band name (Say Hi To Your Mom). They sing a lot about video games, which is funny to me since my boyfriend is in the v.game industry and I'm so dumb about them.

I also forgot the gods of pop... Belle & Sebastian.
