okay, if you could actually travel to/live inside an album/piece of music, what would you do? I guess these'd be a few of my top choices:

Van Morrison- "Astral Weeks"
The Cure- "Disintigration"
Swans- just the song "God Damn the Sun"
Tower Recordings- "Furniture Music for Evening Shuttles"
Cocteau Twins- "Heaven or Las Vegas"
Scott Walker- "Tilt"

Gay Parade, obviously. i think i'd also like to live in Aldhil's Arboretum. other than that...

i'd live in:
"Sea of Love" by Cat Power
"Jesus Christ was an Only Child" by Modest Mouse
"Wisconsin" by Japancakes
"Cows in a Tornado" by Nipples for Days
and the theme song from "Cheers"

i'd visit:
"2 AM" by Jason Webley
"Shit Luck" by Modest Mouse
"Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, pt. II" by the Flaming Lips
"The Dismemberment Plan Gets Rich" by the Dismemberment Plan
"Better Off at Home" by I Am the World Trade Center

hmm... most of those are instrumentals. cool.

i considered putting Aeroplane on my list, but i realized i'd probably freak out from the two-headed people and such. i would like to visit track ten though. that sounds like a fuckin party.

half-handed has a point. i love dreams but those might be a bit much for me.

my list:
belle and sebastian - if you're feeling sinister
either tone soul, fun trick, or discovery (ais albums)
rilo kiley - the execution of all things
sigur ros - ( )
any nick drake album
joni - blue or court and spark
my bloody valentine - loveless
low - things we lost in the fire
ben folds five - whatever and ever amen

i guess that's it for now.

I'd live in When Your Heartstrings Break or The Gay Parade or Mirah's You Think It's Like This But Really It's Like This (I sort of do anyway), or the Lucksmiths' song Self-Preservation or Black Foliage.

I don't think William should live in The Boy with the Arab Strap. Anything's better than posh isolation, William.

the monkees - head soundtrack

i think i can say it would have to be "string bean jean" by belle and sebastian.astral weeks is also a lovely place to be, have a cup of coffee with madam george.also gorecki by lamb is a magical place.it doesnt actually mention a place but it sound really amazing and dreamy "i wanna stay right here till the end of time till the earth stops turning" and last but not least in"underachievers please try harder" by camera obscura..."when we got outside the snow had started to fall" and "took a walk in the park, for a laugh we had sparkle wine" are some representative lyrics...lydia

p.s.:bright eyes?suicide in a matter of minutes sound good?but hey his lyrics are fucking good and he does make it all sound like a story! and sigur ros...a life by the snow is a dream for me!u dont know what hes saying which makes it sound even better!!

Rap songs about big butts. Duh!

02-04-2004, 12:53 AM
ah i wasnt taking it literally. i thought live in as in hearing this album all the time.
even still, i think In The Aeroplane Over The Sea would be a wonderful place to live. Even if some things are scary, like the two headed boys and the ghosts, that album is so beautifully wonderful and twistedly scrumptiously bizarre i think id love to live there anyway.
and as for bright eyes, my life is such a depressed lie, at least that way i could be sad and be completely honest and "holla because i feel the same way sir"

i'd be a doctor in a bowl of oranges for you, baby
