Could you imagine how ruined the tracks would be if Kevin chronicled his falling in love with Nina with the kind of delivery of this song? I don't think Kevin wants to sound twee anymore. He'd rather be as detached as Ariel Pink or John Maus

True, perhaps he can't maintain the bleary-eyed whimsy of 2005 Kevin forever but he could put some more conviction in to it. on say, Ye, Renew the Plaintiff Kevin's vocals are bursting at the seams with emotion. The deadpan delivery he's been giving doesn't match the incredibly personal and raw nature of his lyrics. I've listened to the track a bit and it has grown on me. I'm holding out for the rest of the album as the lead single is not usually his best work.

I do like the track - but I must agree about the backseat vocals. I don't get it, because we and he knows he can do so much better.

Kevin seems to have entered his latter day Black Tie/White Noise phase... electronic and commercial yet wholly uninspired.
I'm not surprised though, of Montreal has not had a relative hit in a very long time. Hopefully, he will be able to turn on some of the Internet culture kids with this new music at least for the time being.

      Plateau Phase sounds about right
You've got a real problem, alright. And a banjo is the only answer.

      I...I liked it.
Not gonna say I'm in love with it but it's a somewhat return to the Paralytic Stalks sound - and that makes me very excited for the really long tracks.
