Couldn't have put it better myself. One point to add: Since when has production and musical competence mattered so much? I think there's something quite beautiful about an act of creative endeavour sounding 'hand-made', as opposed to soulless machine-like nonsense. I couldn't care less about timing or 'skill' if a song is heartfelt and meaningful, and it's hard to deny Nesey either of those characteristics.

It matters to some people more than others. It's never been something that has objectively and universally mattered. It's just music.

were totally on the same page... the hand made quality I mean...
however I believe that evoking emotion from your audience is a skill in itself and add that to natural musicianship...... great combo!!!!

I've been asking for your credentials for like months at this point. and you NEVER EVER ever mentioned any therory background or anything. I just assume based on your etiquette and manners, maybe you made it out of... hmmm... 4th grade.

I studied therory. A.A perf art with emp on music. and you can't read music. I can read it, and write it.

Funny that you bring up a lack of credentials in a thread where people are talking about how formal training doesn't matter

formal training translates. and it does matter. I think nesey is just a "natural". formal education would help, but he is good either way.

I'm not a huge fan, but he's a poster here and I think his music is worth discussing.
