Just in case the new Nana Grizol album wasn't enough we're getting "Twitching in Time" on May 12.
Yeah it's been there a while, way before the drawings.
Oh damn, Jeff is gonna post a new radio episode
But we already know there will be a third OTC album. I'm under the impression that everyone involved wants to see it released and are just allowing for time to heal wounds... So no need to get worked...
I have a hard time judging this show because I hate the stage hand characters so much... It's not personal... It's just their voices... And hearing swears... It just doesn't fit all together.
Jeff reprises his role of "cow-object" on the new Nana Grizol album. It has an accompanying remix album from the 8-track gorilla.
I'll let you all know... I'm signed up for "future milk messages"
It is a fantastic show.
Surprised as not many of those drawings have hit the internet but perhaps that's the way Jeff wants it.
It's great this is happening after hearing it floated around so long. Looks fantastic!
Seems like almost as much emphasis on 7 as there is on 3 in those drawings. I guess it can be '17 but that seems a bit like a leap.
ask the elphant eggma is a download code.
i didn't see this until today. I'm shocked I was able to pick up one so much later. I got Ciper #2.
So exactly how many did he make or is he like Andy Warhol and his art factory....
I don't see a full list of tour dates yet but I just bought my tix for Kingston NY on Nov. 9th
Man, let's relate is one hell of a sugar high. That song rules. Rest of the album is pretty good as well. I like it way better than Aureate Gloom.
That pipes you see line and Lost in the Pancakes are always rattling around the back of my mind.
Wow that video is total cornball. I wish I heard the song before the video came out. The song itself.... not very good. Only positive thing I can say is that it sounds like oM.
Yeah, I still come here almost every day. I just got nothin' to say. I stopped posting when I got sick of that Tall Building nonsense. Happy it's still here thanks largely to Robert Schneider.
Before being inundated by Bowie music by all this I never heard this version of Quicksand.
It's such a stripped down sound for him . None of the dated production that bogs down quite a bit of his...
Melody's Echo Chamber was a pretty good Tame Impala related band.
Currents has its moments. Lonerism was the bands peak.
Nice! KEEP ON LIVING IN THE DREAM WORLD!
I came to E6 townhall seeking the wizzzdom of the elders. Hoping we are not now the elders. To a familiar face/emoticon.
P.S. Am drunk.
P.S.S. EMOTICONS ARE NOW CALLED EMOJIS?!
P.S.S The fact...
This thing is amazing. Dazzle Ships by Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark. How could this be the same band behind "If you Leave?" This is a perfect amalgamation between pop sensibilities and out there...
That guy ruled
Wow, terrible news. He was one of those guys who helped make Townhall a vibrant and interesting place around the time I started posting. Sending my prayers to his family and soul.
Is this essentially what was up before "Go hang a salami."?
And did that mean anything other than being a palindrome?
That is going back a ways since it was the salami page since at least 2008
Are the shows at Prospect Park in Brooklyn typically free or do they sell tickets to shows? I'd really like to go but I can't imagine how difficult it would be to see a free NMH show in NYC.
Just a stray observation. Not sure if it's been pointed out before but on Bright Eye's "The People's Key" the song "Fire Wall" has the line "Madeline she spins in a slow bang. Suppose it's a...
Been listening to this album a lot lately. Didn't realize that these were Oliva songs. Just figured they were the backing band. You can add this to the large pile of amazing things OTC did but we...
What? Separating Fault? Secret Ocean? Scott?! None of those things happened during the Port Chester show. I've never heard Secret Ocean live but would like to. Separating Fault was so amazing during...
There was a bit too much moshing at the show I attended. Maybe, I'm just getting old but I would have much rather have stood there in revelry than having some knob bouncing into me and my fiancee...
I was pleasantly surprised that they did play When The Red King Comes. "Million Years" was played on one of the Holiday Surprise tours. I originally downloaded that album but left off that song and...
Anyone get a call the other day? I was at work when the e-mail had to be sent out. Another carol call I missed out on. Stating the obvious, but what a nice guy Julian is. Every year he does something...
It's on the Major Organ DVD.
For the record, I'm not saying it will. I can see why you would think so from the way I wrote it though.
Well, I am a pharmacist. The only time that dose would be used is parkinsonism and drug induced extrapyramidyl symptoms. It's a high dose any way you cut it. Did I say deadly high? No. I wouldn't...
Agreed. It's anticholinergic, opposing the neurotransmitters required for sexual function. Sounds more frustrating than anything. And 100mg is a stupid high dose. Stuff is going to put you to sleep.
!!!'s Thi!!!er is so amazing and funky. I can't get enough of it lately. It's been a long time since an album has struck me as this catchy from start to finish. So many great pop tunes.
Could a more psychedelic song be composed? Good stuff.
BAM crashed on me but I got the consolation prize of 2 port chester, ny tickets. Just thinking about the traffic is enough to damper my excitement though. So lucky I logged into a computer for the...
If one scrolls over the home page of the website, there is a caption that "Julian's personal hand drawn messages will be moving to thegreatestshowisearth.org" Nothing there at the moment though.
I'm still recovering from soniclovenoize's pizza buns:
On a side note, I was going...
Robert shares his thoughts on Phish, offers insight on past recordings, current happenings, and new material:
Looking forward to hearing the rest:
Digging this. Surpasses my expectations. I would love an album full of songs like this one.
If they didn't provide a service then there wouldn't be a market for it. It is a business, at least in America, so they can't be faulted for making a profit.
Health care must make economic sense...
Well seeing that it meets the definition of disease it seems logical.
We'll see what implications this has on health care. I'd say it's negligible. Treating it is too difficult. It costs a ton of...
Talk about blast from the past. I haven't given these guys much thought over the past 8 years or so. When I met my girlfriend, I used to tease her to no end about liking SOAD. I mean come on, just...
These drawings are pretty fantastic. Happy to have one.
Thank you Kelly and Will. I've been a fan of the art for some time but never thought I'd own any. To ship from Georgia to New York and still...
I've been getting into Eric B and Rakim's "Paid in Full." Pretty good old school hip hop.
I've heard Voice Brother and Sister but it just wasn't doin' it for me.
This caught my eye/ear when Nesey posted about it somewhere. Nice stuff.
I once gave a presentation at my school on the medicinal use of marijuana. I'm so conflicted as to if I should use it in my CV. Seems hardly respectable to the medical community in the way Dateline...
I was just thinking this morning that City Lights by Charlie Chaplin is probably the best movie ever made. If for no other reason than the fact that it's over 80 years old and as good as ever.
Just taking a small slice of the internet to say that this record is really, really, good. Yes, it deserves two "really's."
I never would have forked over a few meager bucks to buy this record if...
I kind of like the rivalries that are fueled by blind hatred, namely the Mets and Yankees. I mean, they aren't even in the same division (allthough Bud Selig seems intent on destroying the AL and NL...
College is worth it to learn a trade or profession. Throwing money into a liberal arts degree that teaches little to no skills seems pretty pointless to me. Gotta have goals beyond a degree,
Yeah, my favorite part as well.
Almost certainly there is no meaning behind it. It was probably written by Jeff and is simply fun with words. Personally, I love this stuff but I enjoyed the...
neutralmilkhotel.net now redirects to walkingwallofwords. Kind of sad to see it go. Making way for news and fish and meaningful messages I suppose. Excited to see what it is.
It's not that I ever considered GM crops a problem it's that I never considered the backlash against GM crops such a problem.
There are some interesting legal problems that arise from cross-...
Love is the predominant virtue in Catholic teaching. Definitely not fire and brimstone. I think that's more of a television thing.
I don't think those making Lenten sacrifices should focus on "giving something up." One of the most valuable things my local priest would encourage is to do something. In my case, I decided to pray...
Sadly, yes. Reminds me of when I was supposed to see The Music Tapes and A Hawk and A Hacksaw only to have Hurricane Irene ruin everything. There was no show. Not cool.
So who's touring with Julian this time around? Just Robbie and Albert Birney?
Yeah I found out about this too late. I know I'm just stating the obvious but Julian is the nicest guy on Earth.
A Metallica t-shirt. Yes! Metallica rules!
I for one can't wait to read Julian Koster meets the Harlem Globe Trotters.
So is the original Neutral Milk website. I wouldn't attach any deep meaning to it. Domain simply expired. And to be honest, why even keep an OTC website? There are a lot of other web outlets for that...
This gave me a good laugh. So true, but I wouldn't consider it a fault. It establishes a theme of memories and by-gone times that is prevalent in all his music. That's one of the reasons I love his...
Listen to it Here: http://neseygallons.bandcamp.com/
Pretty excited to give it a spin.
I love 1st Imaginary Symphony. It's weird and different. However, "Pulled Out to Sea" is tough to listen to. I started with 2nd Imaginary for Clouds and Tornadoes. And seeing them live will make...
Above is a description of the apparent inauguration for The Traveling Imaginary. May be some spoilers so read at yer own...
Just an FYI. It's called Hillbilly Heroin because of the proliferation of the problem in the Appalachian region. Often abusers of the meds do get it through a pharmacy and it is dirt cheap. It's also...
C'mon Jeremy Barnes is the Keith Moon of the collective. Eric Harris is fantastic however his contributions with electronics outshine his percussion.
I like the new album a lot. The first one was decent but nothing exciting. Tame Impala's latest is really great to me though. Such a nice update of psychedelic music and the work of Todd Rundgren.
Covers. This one features our friend Heather McIntosh
I was going to post this one as well but it seems we are limited to posting ONE VIDEO AT A TIME!...
That "Dreamies" album JamisonM recommended is really cool. Nice find. Never would have known of its existence.
Spotify has most of them. Just sign up for the free membership.
Got the e.p. sent to my e-mail inbox today.
Quinilones are super common prescriptions and in general, are very safe. This kind of stuff happens less than .1% of the time. Drugs are only on the market if the benefit outweighs the risk.
Thanks for updating us. The Townhall is a better place when you post.
Looking forward to the new music. Eyes Ago is still a really great album that I listen to regularly. It's enough to put out...
This is incredibly sad news. If I can be some affected from the loss of someone I've known mostly through recordings and passing encounters, I can only imagine how those who know and love Bill Doss...
That all looks exciting. Can't wait to hear the new album and all the fun stuff...
No more Euro! And the Dollar continues its run as world reserve currency.
Saw this on Facebook:
Not much said other than that they're in Toronto working on the next album.
What is this...
Robert Schneider likes everything. There seem to be no boundaries to his positivity and enthusiasm. Super nice guy. That being said, I'm your typical jerk and I thought it was garbage.
Another garbage article in which the journalist impresses his ideas on Elephant 6 rather than letting E6 represent what it really is. And again, another loser who just wants pop songs and not the...
U.S.-Suppress the competition and continue imperialism.
Israel- Maintain power and national security as well as gain international support by opposing the "world's bad guy"
I thought "Pink Moon" was really bland and boring the first time. That all changed with just the second listen. Now I love it. Good stuff.
That's great news. Those shows are some of the best I've gone to if not the best.
I really wish I bought tickets. I wouldn't have passed up a chance for a second show had I known the Music Tapes were opening.
I would love to hear the old songs played live. They're undeniably better than the new stuff. Obviously the songs have a different significance to the creator that the listener cannot relate to. It's...
Needed to look this one up:
In July 2008, Kevin and David performed skits, under the name Disney Herpes, opening for Fire Zuave in Athens, Georgia.
You're welcome for yet another...
Great interview. Thanks for posting.
