So Bill Doss sat in at the end of the Circulatory System set for "The Opera House" and a 20-minute "The Pressure"! Just felt like I needed to share that  Recording will be forthcoming of course.

I got back from Athens an hour ago.....
"The Opera House" validated my whole trip.....
Sloan......How does the recording sound...did you listen to the tape yet? I hope it turned out....I'll keep my eyes peeled for the seed.

whats "the pressure"?

The recording is definitely listenable I'd say. The feedback is annoying, but I'm playing around with possibly filtering that out.
I asked John about "The Pressure" afterward (he told me its title); he said OTC used to close shows overseas with it (it was really late, or I'd have thought to ask why only overseas), and that it had been played going back to when they were a trio, before John had been in the band. At one point I thought it was just a jam, but there were definitive vocals/shouts/chants back and forth between Will and Bill.

This is really nice and all but why the general amazement - they reformed and played a number of shows as OTC recently. Surely this can't be that much of a surprise or a cataclsymic event, unless you missed the OTC shows last year.
Can't speak for the others, but personally my "wow" was about the performance itself, not necessarily its "importance."
However, in my limited experience, I've never seen OTC material done at a CS show. I'd also never seen/heard "The Pressure" in any form.

hopefully we'll get another OTC tour soon as well as westcoast circulatory dates.

I'm pretty sure OTC ended their last show at Orange Twin with "The Pressure" right? God damn that was a weird-ass trip. Everyone in front of the stage was freaking the hell out, and so was the band. Oh Orange Twin, why did you forsake us this summer?

Ah, you're correct; my words eaten.

What did the rest of the set look like?

I haven't gone back and checked, but I don't believe there was anything else that wasn't played at the Popfest show last month.
