From their myspace:

"Currently Andrew Rieger, Derek Almstead, Jimmy Hughes, Eric Harris, Laura Carter, and Heather McIntosh (the members of Elf Power) just completed their eighth album entitled "In A Cave" which will also be released by Rykodisc (March 2008). "In A Cave" is a lushly orchestrated mix of eclectic songwriting that is sure to conjure up memories of 1997's "When the Red King Comes", but with a more mature approach to arrangements, lyrics, and instrumentation."

Awesome! Very very good news. Back to the Web was ok, but conjuring up memories of When the Red King Comes, sounds very interesting.

nice! I loved Back to the Web...I hope they follow up with some shows. I saw them in a Brooklyn Basement well over a year ago. Great show.

I can't get into that album. I've tried. It's odd because they are one of my favorite bands. And I genuinely dislike Vainly Clutching At Phantom Limbs.

Have you noticed that everytime someone writes about Elf Power, they always have to call them the "overlooked" Elephant 6 band? Certainly they're not as popular as NMH and the Apples, but whenever I've seen them live they have a big loyal following that turns up.

I rather like the new album. A few songs I could do without (Paralyzed borders on annoying after the first minute), but overall very strong I think.

I preorderd but I haven't given the mp3s a good listen yet. What else do people think? I am a huge fan of Back to the Web b/c the melodies are really great.

When the Red King Comes.. leap to Back to the Web - best 2 albums

I haven't heard all of the new ones yet, but from what i have heard, it isn't on par with either of the two above.
